NATIONAL TRUST

 

 

           National Trust is an autonomous body under the Ministry of Social Justice & Empowerment came into existence as per the directives of Hon’ble  Apex Court  in the year 1999 Govt. of India have enacted National Trust Act.1999 vide resolution No.44 of 1999.

 

Aims & Objectives:

n                      To address the Welfare of persons with  Autism, Cerebral Palsy, Mental retardation & Multiple Disability.

 

LOCAL LEVEL COMMITTEE

 

nThe Committee comprising of Collector & Dist. Magistrate as Chairperson & two representatives of NGOs working for the Disabled are the constituent members.

n   The Local Level Committee meeting is being convened regularly in due intervals i.e. in quarterly.

 

n   For better convergence of the programme other line departments such as Health,Horticulture, Panchayat  Raj, R.D will be taken as   co-opted members

 

 

SUPPORTED GUARDIANSHIP

 

 

nGanjam is one of the 75 Districts of the 27 States of the Country covered under Supported Guardianship scheme on a pilot basis for a period of 3 years.

n                10 nos. Supported Guardians of MR/CP category children have been selected    and are receiving financial support w.e.f 1.6.04 @ Rs.500/- P.M. The 1st payment of financial assistance has been made by His Excellency the Governor of Orissa on 29.9.04.

n                Keeping in view of the provisions of National Trust Act 13 (I) (II) the Dist. is entitled for constituting another Local Level Committee for extending financial support. Since there is  adequate no. of  deserving beneficiaries are available  to cover under SGS  it is suggested to sanction another 30 nos. of beneficiaries under the scheme to this Dist.
