PREVENTION AND MITIGATION STRATEGY FOR

DIFFERENT HAZARDS

 

The contingency plan for Disaster Management is basing on the past experiences as well as the direction of District Manager-cum collector. In this way the prevention and mitigation strategy has been developed keeping in view of the Pre, During and Post Disaster Days work. Flood, Cyclone, Drought, Heat Wave, Fire Accident are some major Natural Calamities, which are experienced in this district very often and now add to this the Tsunami threat has also alarmed as a major threat to the coastal based inhabitants.

 

The District is divided in to 3 Zone and Senior level Officers of the District will work as Zone Officer, who will look after the rescue and relief operation and monitor the day to day situation and send the updates as received from their Asst. Zone Officers (Sub-Collector) under the direct supervision of District Collector.
